I tried to play this CD in my CD player as I am a huge fan of Kris Allen. When I put it into my CD player everything seemed fine at first, but then things started to sound funny. The music started getting really slow and Kris’s voice started slurring together like he had been drinking. I quickly tried to pop the CD out, but it was too late. It already destroyed my CD player. Upon looking at the CD closer, and measuring it with a protractor, I noticed that it is oval in shape (most CD’s are round). Also the CD left a bunch of sticky stuff in my player. The CD was very hot when I took it out of the player, and believe it or not it actually kind of smelled good (not sure why). I would not recommend buying this CD unless you want to ruin your stereo equipment. I am so upset that this was even allowed to be shipped out. This shows how careless some people can be. I’m pretty sure it was the CD that ruined my player, but I also put a cookie in my CD player earlier that day…Actually now that I think about it more than likely it was the cookie. I still wouldn’t risk it if I were you.

I am just stating my honest opinion. This album is not worthy of an American Idol winner. As a winner of the most popular TV show in the country, Kris needed to do something more. His voice just doesn’t cut it, and I think the sales will show.

Sorry, but absolutely nothing special or distinctive,tired of the same old same old pop tunes, will disappear in the sea of the same boring performers.

I listened to this CD at a friend’s house before making a purchasing decision. What a huge disappointment. I enjoyed most of Kris’s performances on American Idol and hoped he might be a little less safe on his debut CD. Wrong. Kris hasn’t found his voice yet with this CD. Both his processed vocals and his song selections bored me to tears. The lead single, Live Like We’re Dying, is especially abysmal. It sounds suspiciously like No Boundaries, with its wordiness and trite “you can do it!” message. I thought Kris cut that song from the tour because he didn’t like it? Anyway, I won’t be buying this CD. I hope Kris’s next one will sound more like what I expect he’s capable of producing.
